Loose, Bloody Stools, Ⅲ

In general, we can attribute loose stools to the element of cold, leading to the deficiency of your Spleen Organ System. It is called an organ system because of all the many responsibilities associated with the Spleen (or any other primary organ defined within Chinese Medicine) which are rarely understood, much less acknowledged by bio-medical medicine.
For instance a weak Spleen Organ System may be apparent with someone who bruises easily. The Spleen is responsible for holding fluids within your circulatory system. This may mean that the leaking of blood into the stools can also be a result of a deficient Spleen Organ System.
Since your Spleen Organ System is associated with the element of Earth, it is likened to a mountain holding the mountain lake water in place. The first bowls and cups were called earthen-ware. The term is still used today! Root causes of a deficient Spleen Organ System can range from genetic to excess cold from an incorrect diet, to excess worry or intellectual work. The term intellectual work is associated with having to think too much and not necessarily a level of intelligence. This can be associated with researchers, students, a CPA, lawyers…you get the picture.
Please remember that there are many other daily disharmonies associated with bowel movements and your Spleen Organ System. This is just one based on a cold and deficiency. I could easily bring in the Chinese Medicine Pattern of Damp Heat in the Spleen, which can also cause loose stools.
I would like to importantly bring up the regulation of fluids and blood pressure. As a paramedic in another life, I could not count how many times patients were on some type of diuretic to control high blood pressure. Could at least a portion of these patients have some level of a cold and deficient Spleen Organ System? We have had numerous reports of customers taking a very common Chinese Herbal Spleen Tonic Formula such as our Uplift Central Chi with outstanding results in the area of controlling high blood pressure, among other positive results. This formula may also be appropriate if you have:
- General weak constitution
- Poor muscle tone and weakness of the limbs
- Prolapsed organs
- Chronic fatigue
- Bruise easily
- Low immune system
- Lack of motivation
- Spontaneous sweating
- Cold environment intolerance
- Shortness of breath
- Low and soft voice
- Pale and shiny complexion
- Poor appetite
As you can see, one formula can cover many disharmonies. I’ve just been focusing on a deficient Spleen Organ System as a cause for loose stools, yet there are numerous Chinese Medicine Patterns that may be involved. This can be very complex and complicated to grasp. A proper Chinese Medicine Diagnosis can be worth its weight in gold!
