The Chief Chinese Herb, Jin Yin Hua, mirrors the treatment principle exactly and it is frequently used in formulas that address this type of condition. Together the four deputies in the formula, Ye ju hua, Pu gong ying, Zi hua di ding and Zi bei tan kui, strongly reinforce the formulas ability to clear heat-toxins and cool the Blood.

Because none of the herbs in the formula are overly bitter and drying, the formula is able to clear heat without damaging the Blood and Yin. The small number of herbs and relatively narrow functional application make this formula easy to use either as a stand-alone formula or as adjunct to other Chinese Herbal Formulas.
