Introduction
In order to promote and introduce new theories on health and dis-ease, based on the unique and advanced scientific theories of Chinese Herbal Medicine, we thought it would be important to divide the idea of Internal Deficiency into four, separate categories.
That being;
- Blood
- Chi
- YinÂ
- Yang
Can a person have a combination of Blood, Chi, Yin & Yang Deficiency in varying degrees? The answer is yes.
Because these deficiencies can exist on multiple levels creating extreme complexities and with different degrees, they may take several years to rebuild and recover. Remember that as with any Chinese Medicine concept, the idea of an internal deficiency must be viewed with a very open mind.

A Deeper Look
Yang Deficiency can go deeper into each organ system, each with similar manifestations yet their own eccentricities. To learn more about these differences, please click on the buttons below.
Kidney Yang Deficiency
The Kidney’s are both the root of the Yin (fluids and cooling system) and Yang (metabolism and fire system) of your body. More often than not, all Yang Deficiency patterns will source back to the Kidney’s, even if you have another Yang Deficiency pattern in another organ system.
Heart Chi & Yang Deficiency
The Heart is symbolized as the Fire element of the body. Not only that, the Kidney’s, the Water element of the body, has an important and direct impact on the Heart. Naturally, when either the Heart or Kidney’s are deficient in their Yang aspect, the other will be effected.Â
Spleen Chi & Yang Deficiency
The Spleen is the core of your digestion, and is also a key component to the Triple Warmer System of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The Triple Warmer is a system that describes how three key Yang elements of the Kidney’s, Spleen (Digestion) and Lungs all work together to distribute fluids and energy through out your system. It directly correlates to your metabolism on the whole. Perhaps this is an over simplified view, but it does convey the dynamic relationship between the Kidney Yang and the Spleen Yang.
